Some elementary game theory (GT) will be introduced to illustrate the application of game theory to the analysis of negotiations:

o GT is a tool ideally suited for penetrating the complex decision-making situations
o GT in this chapter is supplemented by verbal explications that use ideas from GT but not its formal apparatus
